Below some pictures of the G2446, with the backlight not yet working.
Note that there is one loose wire connected to LPT pin 10 that I might use some day to connect a set of keys.
I am not going to make the backlight switchable by software, because switching reduces the lifetime of the CFL lamp. LEDs don't have this problem.
