lcdvc

lcdvc is an LCDproc client that displays the currently active virtual console on the LCD. Because the LCD is usually much smaller than the console you can only see a part of it. The visible area will automatically shift to keep the cursor in the area. You can also shift the screen manually with the cursor keys (if you have those on your LCD device).

To use it you'll first need to compile it. On Linux the supplied Makefile should work after little editing. You will need to set the variable LCDPROCDIR to point to the LCDproc 0.5 distro. To do that edit Makefile with your favorite editor and edit the variable. For other platforms than Linux you will probably need to adapt the Makefile more. Type 'make' to start compiling.

Next, if compiling when OK, adjust the configfile if necesary (maybe you don't actually need it). Then type lcdvc -h to see what options you need.

Download the gzipped tar archive here: lcdvc-20040229.tgz.

If you start it from init, you can even log in without a monitor !
